Depends on who/when: when he was my customer (as in a customer of my old day
job) he adamantly denied his mailservers were "open relays": he claimed that
the term "open relay" was only applicable to a mailserver that was used to
send unsolicited email *with the owners permission*.

Note that Dean-o doesn't reserve his whacked out attitude for just
"spamfighters". Anyone he's pissed off at for any reason gets a good and
hefty dose of pathology.

He went so far as to write nastygrams to my supervisors complaining that I
had "gone after him" "in public forums" on numerous occasions, and that my
dealings with him were a personal vendetta - keep in mind that I had (in my
naivete) never heard of him or av8 before. Dean isn't just nuts in the
traditional sense, he's a flat out pathological liar when his back is up
against the wall: woe to the poor soul that finds Dean (or his equally
whacked out attorney) on the other side of a router or telephone...

Obviously, these are my personal opinions, and your mileage may vary. If
these opinions were my current employers opinions, I would so state,
however, they are not. In fact, my current employer would likely
specifically deny any association with any of my personal opinions if asked,
so you can be certain that these opinions are not theirs.

Dean-o: please send any legal process related to these personal opinions to
my WHOIS address, so that I can be certain to receive it: I'm always in the
mood for new toilet paper :-)
